Empaths and highly sensitive people have no problem with perceiving energies per se; but we don’t know how to discern or work them. We feel 'stuff' in us and around us all the time, but we often don't know how to handle or manage them. We are usually overwhelmed or even feel dominated by ‘energies’, blame others or think that there is something wrong with us. To handle all this we end up isolating or worse, we try to numb our inner connection and avoid inner silence.

This common mechanism found in people who are empatheic is detrimental. It can lead to all kinds of coping and avoidance patterns in relationships (gaslighting, codependency, externalizing) as well as with ourselves (addictions just being one of them). We are so overloaded that we just don't want to FEEL anything. This constant inner up and down of energies is our daily bread, and very hard to understand for others. The very thing that could help us regulating our energetic perception and learning how to better deal with our sensitivity is focusing our attention inwardly. However, this seems is exactly the challenge. The way things are and how the world is going is already too much - how can our inside help us to deal with our outside? - How can our energetic sensitivity help us to better navigate through our live?

In times of elevated collective or planetary influx of transformational energies, which are often induced through shifts and changes in the electro-magnetic grid but also the collective energetic matrix. For energetically sensitives and empaths this is nothing new. We typically sense those shifts before they manifest into our 3D lives. However, due to our ego’s blindspots and unhealed inner aspects we tend to forget the purpose of our energetic sensitivity. Regardless of how much we’ve read or know about energies in times of outer change our inner knowing goes out the window. As our energetic triggers are amplified we slip back into the collective fear of the unknown and succumb to predisposed ego patterns.

This can affect our inner balance and wellbeing on all levels. But most and foremost increased energetic intensity can trigger and lead to resurfacing of symptoms of emotional, mental, physical or etheric blocks.

Here a few examples for what Etheric/Energetic Shifts can trigger:

Again, I would like to critically comment on a frequent observation in my energy work practice. I will get straight to the point: There seems to be a common misconception in the new age/esoteric/spiritual scene that the purpose of the spiritual journey is to transcend the body and ‘lower’ emotions by ignoring them and solely focusing on our 'higher' Charkas and ‘ascension’.

With this belief emotions are regarded as part of our lower animalistic nature and often compartmentalized or heavily judged. It can lead to an inner fragmentation and quite frankly, often accomplishes the opposite of ascension: it keeps us tied to our unresolved/unhealed aspects and therefore often blocks our journey at the very structural foundation of our energy system!

In recent years, we have observed an alarming connection between addiction and energetic sensitivity, highly sensitive persons and empaths. The amount of addictive or co-addictive patterns amongst us is extremely high, and often also very challenging to recover, as the underlying need to connect and heal is so strong, that it often expresses in the less obvious form of co-dependency. Co-dependency may not exactly show as obvious addiction, because it hides more in what we don’t do, such enabling, and the inability to feel and maintain healthy boundaries.

For centuries we have been conditioned to believe that addictive behaviors are weak, unacceptable and sinful. We regard our coping behaviors as 'temptation of the flesh', which condemned addiction as irreconcilable shadow part of our human existence. Most of us judge addiction in others, but what about our hidden addictions, that makes us look ‘good’ in other people’s eyes? What about our obsessive self-berating, perfectionism, mental looping, victimhood, spiritual specialness, power-tripping or emotional manipulation? Have you ever considered these behaviors as addictive?

Our energy is a system of fields that is anchored to the physical - minute by minute - by our choices, our karma and the consciousness level that we are at in each moment. And, like any system, there are weak spots, sometimes damaged areas, and parts that flow quite strongly.

As we all have experienced, there are times where our system is weak or low due to lack of water, stress, or simply going through things/processing our emotions. And, as this occurs, our energy body can become compromised at any one point or many, which can show up as discomfort, tension, feeling off, aches and pains, or even illness. When we get sick, we blame it on germs or fate, but the energetic truth of disease is that it is a condition that could be changed by our conscious awareness of how our Energetic Immune System works.

To help heal or adjust these situations as they arise it is best to look at and work with as many systems as we can to help change, shift or let go of the energetic condition that leads to the development of discomfort or dis-ease we now know that there are components of the physical, emotional, mental, spiritual, and social aspects involved, and often more than one.

Jona and I are still hearing from numerous people who are really struggling right now with the intensities that are quite bombarding or overwhelming to the point where one can become unsure what is their 'stuff' (ego patterns, emotions) and what is others.

When the current intensities hit, it is like our energy becomes swamped or overcome, and if we don't work immediately to center or ground, we can easily get spun into fear, worry, doubt, anger, and the whole gambit of defensive responses in the hopes that we can cope with all that is hitting us.

Energetic Sensitivity means that what we experience is not just what we can see with our visual eyes. Someone who is highly perceptive to the unseen also sees the world through their inner mind's eye. Some of us shut our sensitivity down, out of fear - others follow their inner prompting and use it to explore inner and outer beyond the veil of ego mind and visual perception.

How can we integrate both ways of seeing the world, and why is it important to build our very own lexicon of energetic feelings and sensations?

The amount of information and sensations that we experience throughout any given day can be astounding and vary tremendously. As we take in all that we sense, we form ties, labels or meanings to various stimuli as symbols or representations of certain people, places, emotions, or mental constructs.

This information processing forms a large part of how we live out our lives, and we have a tendency to become fairly rigid over time in what things represent for us and how we act in accordance with those representations.

When we attempt to do new things, take on new situations or choose some form of personal growth; the symbols we sense usually change or take on different meanings, which can bring about confusion, emotionality or uncertainty on how to act.

For example, if we see a man coming towards us in a state of fear, it will mean something different as opposed to when we are in a state of anger, neutrality or at peace. At one of end that list we may run away or try to fight the man seeing him a threat, and at the other end we may see if he needs help or take time to get to know seeing him as just another human being.

The same situation with the same visuals and sensations can lead to tremendously different outcomes based on our energetic state. But not only that - it can also mean that we need to look at something completely different in order to manage our personal energy. For example, in some states, Anger and its symbols can be very healing - in other states it can be defelcting, destructive or even self-sabotaging.

Just taking in information (content) does not represent the overall situation (context) fully. As it is in the interpretation of the facts and understanding of where our energy is currently at that we can have a stronger understanding of what is occurring within our lives in any given moment.

This process of both reflection and awareness (contemplative lifestyle) incorporates a more accurate view of our lives as it looks at all information from a faster vibratory view, and not one of the mind and emotions.

The latter leads to reactive or instinctual responses, while the faster vibratory view may still lead to the same outcome, but with time the responses in this situation may begin to change or at least we will have more options to choose from.

The choice to begin to study or feel out what we are experiencing can become a large part of spiritual consciousness journey, as things such as prayer, meditation, contemplation and aligning to the softness of our inner connection can bring up a slew of new feelings, reference feelings, symbols and sensations that we will want to decode.

By feeling out what these symbols mean to us as we interpret dreams, visions and sensations, we will begin to form a new lexicon that aids us in sensing what state we are in, what is coming in for us, and what choices we have to respond or change how we act in a given situation.

What comes of this work can be astounding and aid us tremendously in helping us decode or break down what is occurring within our journey as we work to connect, integrate and heal.

To help with the formation of your own lexicon, journal daily. Write about what you are experiencing in the best detail you can. What colors or symbols came up, who did you see/feel, what sounds did you hear, how did you feel and so on.

As you continue to journal, you will see patterns form or repetitive symbols/sensations come forward. In time, the work done here can really aid in interpreting what is occurring and needed in your life.

Everyone has the ability to sense Energies - no matter what we understand as energies. The way this happens for us is spontanteous - we have subtle feelings, inner percetions, sudden visuals and of course physically sensations. More and more of us are becoming aware of this sense - yet we can't fully connect to it. Many of us perceive it as a burden or over-sensitivity, affecting our well-being, inhibiting our daily interactions, blocking us or even isolating us sometimes. However, our energetic sensitivity can be quite useful. Let's explore how we can apply our energetic senses in our practical lives...

We all know what it is like to be reactive, anxious, emotional, dramatic, or simply feeling off or energetically unbalanced. It is part of everyone’s life that comes up when our ego feels threatened, unsafe, or simply unsure of an outcome based on on the defensive patterns that we have developed to cope with these feelings.

And, if you take a moment to remember or feel back into the last time you became off/emotional, you may have also noticed how by allowing these emotionally charged states to take hold they become more powerful the longer we stay in them, dragging us down as they do.
