Anyone, who desires to have more energy at the end of the day, and who wants to get more out of their lives than work or chores, naturally seeks to find ways that can up their energy levels. Since the nineties it has become aware to most of us that diet, exercise and lifestyle choices are the main factors for maintaining physical health that can even overcome our genetic disposition. This awareness has produced a widespread health and fitness craze, leading people to spend billions of dollars every year trying to follow whichever cutting edge diet or exercise program that was promoted through media, often with adverse consequences.
We now know, that every, person, body, metabolism, circumstances, and disposition is unique and individual. Following ‘diets’ doesn’t work if we don’t know what our body and energy systems needs. There is much more to our energy than just quantity control, weight, looks or muscles! The need for more energy comes when we realize that our overall life-style has become exhausting and energy-draining, regardless of how much money or friends we have, what size we wear, or what we think we need to be more successful in life.
From an energetic point of view, our life becomes draining when it takes more energy to maintain what we have than what we get out of it. High Vibe Nutrition is supportive and in-tune with your body/mind/heart/spirit and supports your overall energetic system, not just our physical well-being! There are no secrets or hacks, just the awareness that everything you put-in or put-out affects your energy levels. The food itself is just one aspect. For your energy to be supported, nourished, healed and boosted through what you eat, it matters how you feel toward eating your food, how and when you eat it, and of course what you need at the time. Paying attention to your nutrition helps you to regulate your physical, emotional and even spiritual needs, and therefore strengthens your ability to self-master yourself. High Vibe Nutrition helps to regulate your emotions, increase your self-love and ups your overall radiance (also read here about the Basics of Energy Work).
A High Vibrational Diet is based on supporting our body and energy system. It should be balanced and whole, allowing the harmony of energies to naturally self-heal through continual release of energetic residues while promoting habits that increase our energy’s efficiency.
Persons with heightened energetic sensitivity and empaths often recognize the influence that food-intake, activities, exposure to people, places, and other outer factors have on their energy levels more easily than others. In general, most people don't know what to focus on or resort to what is the fastest or easiest to ingest. Instinctually, the first thing we try is to avoid or cut out what obviously makes us feel bad, such as identified food-sensitivities or allergies. But that's often not enough. Many of us have found out that the focus on cutting out what's 'bad' for us tends to leave us deprived or under-stimulated. In times of increased stress, crisis or low energy we gravitate to low vibe foods and reinforce negative sentiments about food and eating in general.
Living like a monk or feeling that we constantly have to ward-off bad energies isn't life-promoting. A focus on what we don't want can also set us up for hyper-vigilance and control-freakiness - and thus for more sensitivities. The same applies to constant exercising off, clearing or detox to remove the ‘bad' we ingested. Strategies that focus on the ‘bad’ often lead to too extreme and imbalanced nutrition.
We cannot control everything that comes in; we need to accept that we cannot prevent low vibes from existing or coming in. Paying attention to what we ingest is important, but not just in regards to foods that lower our energy. High Vibe Nutrition encompasses everything we ingest, which is why we need a strategy that helps us with both, avoiding low vibes and increasing high vibes, be it foods, people, media, thoughts, communication, interaction or activities.
As energy healer I recommend anyone who wants to live a life in the highest expression to look at their diet as an extension of their attitude toward Self and therefore one of the few factors in life that we CAN control.
The 12 main principles of a High Vibe Nutrition below are basically the same as a generally healthy and balanced diet - just a little more conscious. The main difference is that it includes the energetic perspective, including the overall condition and source of food, preparing and eating as an expression of Self-Care and Self-Love.
Changing our diet definitely provides a more optimal condition for a healthier, more energetic and happier life experience, and for many, it can make a huge difference in perceiving ourselves and the world we live in. However, changing our diet alone is no guarantee that you can hold your energy. High Vibrational Living is a complex and individual process of self-awareness and self-discovery.
Educating ourselves about foods is an absolute must, but not for the reason you think. It increases our option and allows us to make better choices, but when wanting to make our diet part of a higher vibe nutrition, is not our knowledge or discipline about nutrition, but our ability to feel, adjust and trust in our own energy. The goal of high vibe neutron is to confidently feel what, how much, and when you need nourishment. This applies not only to foods, but because we all need to eat several times a day, our food choices can have a huge impact on our energy levels.
As our energy levels oscillate throughout the day depending on internal and external factors, such as thoughts, emotions, and activities, interactions with others, places, general exposure, overall collective conditions, etc. the main discipline is not to decide but to truly feel what we need or what could be nourishing at a given moment.
The main reason why this has become so difficult for us is the increased Neurotransmitter confusion through our fast-paced, instant gratification oriented life-style. A simple example of this confusion is the general inability to differentiate between hunger and thirst. But the much bigger problem, and in my view, an alarming problem with Neurotransmitter confusion is the DOPAMINE-TRAP we are all caught in. Everything is instant. Food plays an integral role in this, but more so as a secondary symptom (fast-food, sugar and caffeine consumption). The motivation to invest in activities or effort that can lead to long-term success versus instant gratification is becoming less and less attractive to us, especially younger generations. Pretty colored buttons to click on, fast-moving pictures in YouTube videos, instant rewards for phone apps and constant bombardment through attention-seeking posts, likes and views have created an even greater dependency and addiction structure in our Nervous-Systems. It messes with our decision making, leading us empty and lonely without overstimulating Dopamine hits coming in from the outside.
Without being aware of it, we have traded meaningfulness, self-reflection, stillness, deeper connection, maturing through witnessing and making our own experiences, time for lovingness, personal interaction and creative self-expression for fast success, technological advancement, and convenience. If we don’t use our inner prompting to live a higher vibratory life, we are running towards becoming part in an instant and chronically passive society with toxic values, lack of integrity, regard for the planet or other people, and most of all little motivation or interest in changing what is not good for us.
Living an energy-aware high vibe life means paying attention to ourselves and our environment and using those insights to make self-responsible choices. High Vibe Living requires high-level inventiveness and self-reflective honesty with ourselves about our daily choices and how they influence the energy within and around us.
Therefore, be prepared that the biggest challenge of changing your diet and lifestyle into a more energy-sustaining and heart-connected way will trip your ego. Not only does it almost appear as counterintuitive to take more time for food, but living high vibes comes with the necessity to face our daily coping and avoidance patterns that more often than not turn out to be self-sabotaging habits.
The very meaning of balance and harmony is that it includes all areas of our life and not just one. Long-term dietary changes can create a massive improvement in your energetic and physical well-being and can lead to fulfillment, happiness, and success in life. But in order to sustain and express those higher levels of energy, you need to check on your overall energetic attitude and allow changes in all areas of life.
12 Principles of a High Vibe Nutrition:
1. Drink Lots of Water
- Drink more water than you think you need.
- Amount: Overall, the golden rule for health-sustaining water intake (at normal activity level) is: 1/2 bodyweight in ounces per day (heavy exercise/sweating requires more of course). Because of the diuretic nature of coffee, black tea, and alcohol, in order to counterbalance their negative effect, you need to replenish the lost liquid with the extra cup of water, which does not count towards your water balance!
Filtered tap water is the most balanced solution to drinking 2-3+ Liters a day.
- Drink throughout the day, preferably not before or during meals. If you are thirsty before going to bed you know you didn’t drink enough.
- Drink Lemon Water first thing in the morning and throughout the day – ideally warm or room temperature.
- Specialty waters such as Alkaline or Ionized water are great but not needed for covering your basic hydration levels, however, Coconut water can increase your body’s ability to absorb water.
2. Add Lots of Raw Fruits and Vegetables
- Prefer organic, seasonal and local whenever possible
- The more different colors you eat the better
- The darker in color the better (higher micronutrient content)
- Eat raw fruits first thing in the morning
- Try to add raw veggies to your meals (salad before meal)
- Avoid eating raw fruits/raw tomatoes on full stomach ever!
3. Prefer Natural Foods & Unprocessed - They have more Life Force
- Processed/packaged/pre-made foods:
Replace with as natural and 'alive' as possible (even self-cooked frozen meals or produce, they are better than packaged foods but do not provide as many nutrients anymore).
- Refined Sugars:
Refined (white) sugar is a neurotoxin! Replace with Coconut sugar, Agave Syrup, Unrefined sugar or Raw Honey.
- Processed Dairy products:
Replace with rice, coconut or almond. Try to stay with as natural (whole) and organic as possible. Avoid low-fat and nonfat, etc.! If you can get raw milk make your own (e.g. instead of ready mixed yogurts get organic whole milk yogurt and mix with your own fruit mash and sweetener if needed).
- Over-processed Cheese Spreads (including cream and cottage cheese):
Replace with goat and sheep (feta) cheese or Brie. In general look for (unfortunately very expensive) one-piece cheese chunks, in the form, they come in from the dairy farm.
- Excessive intake of Caffeine, Alcohol, and Nicotine
- Stay away from deep-fried foods
- Don’t ever use Microwave for cooking or heating your food
- Always prefer freshly cooked over frozen
4. Avoid Contaminants, Food Additives & Household Toxins - They Add Up!
MSG - aka Hydrolyzed Yeast/Protein Extract
Trans-Fats, Hydrogenated Oils/Fats (in most chips, crackers, breading and processed meals such as frozen french fries, pizza, etc) and replaced with organic versions
Artificial Food Coloring
You can replace it with a natural food coloring for kids, found in health food stores (hard to get).
Artificial Sweeteners of any kind!
Stevia is okay but 'real' sugar is always better as it doesn't mess with your taste buds and neurotransmitters. Best to ween off from super sweet foods and reduce overall sweetness levels of foods.
High Fructose Corn Syrup
Absolute nono! Superbad Neurotoxin! Once you weened yourself from super-sweet taste, you can taste HFCS - it becomes too sweet for you to eat.
Farm-Raised Fish & Seafood:
Heavy use of antibiotics and hormone/neurotransmitter altering substances - Replace with wild-caught if possible.
Non-Organic Meats: Replace with organic brands. The modern life-stock industry produces lots of trauma energy that gets stored in meat cells; can contribute to anxiety and depression.
Stay with natural shampoos, cleaners, etc. Avoid fabric softeners!
Avoid the use of Herbicides and Pesticides in your house doesn't just kill plants and insects…find healthier or natural repellents or bio-remedies.
Avoid non-stick pans and pots
5. Align to Quality vs. Quantity
- ‘Good’ Fats:
Use only good Oils, such as olive oil, grape seed, coconut and flaxseed oil (all cold-pressed, organic if possible) and Atlantic Fish Oil, wild-caught.
Don't be afraid of good fats from seeds and good oils! Even unsalted butter is no threat to a high vibratory diet! Yes, they deliver high-calorie content, but they also come with everything for the body needs to break it down into energy which means it will be utilized and not stored in body fat!
- Complex Carbohydrates & Fiber
Add a bite of a high fiber granola bar or dried fruit before eating anything with refined sugar; it lowers the glycemic index and adds fiber, which support your body to metabolize sugars more efficiently
- High Potency Proteins:
Plant proteins deliver high potency protein and are therefore more easily accessible for your body. Proteins from vegetables, nuts, seeds, legumes and brown rice provide everything our body needs and doesn’t slow down our energy. (Please google for protein-rich vegetables and plant proteins).
This doesn’t mean that animal proteins are bad for us, but they generally come with additives and high levels of energetic contaminants based on the way they are treated and processed.
- Macronutrients vs. Micronutrients:
In general, it's smarter to focus on nutrient-dense foods. Micronutrients from whole foods deliver Vitamins, Enzymes and other phytochemicals satiate our body’s needs and lead to less food-craving. Calorie-dense foods rarely deliver enough micronutrients and thus keep our body deprived and asking for more!
- Regular Probiotics and/or Fermented Foods or Drinks:
Probiotics deliver supportive bacteria for our intestines. Yogurt, Kefir, Miso, Kombucha, Kimchi, Sauerkraut, etc., in small amounts, help to increase our digestive efficiency and nutrient absorption.
- Nuts, Grains, Seeds, and Legumes:
Nuts such as almonds are a great source for calcium and magnesium and other minerals. Seeds provide high potency proteins and fiber. Also, dried fruits or in combination trail and granola mixes are very nutrient-dense.
- Avoid Processed Gluten:
Processed/packaged breads, cookies, crackers, pizza, and pasta contain a lot of refined gluten. Gluten in itself is not necessarily unhealthy, unless one already has an allergy. The two main reasons for the hype with gluten is that it's separated out of its natural compound and the chemicals to accomplish this remain in the foods. Naturally occurring gluten (e.g. in whole grain rye) is not unhealthy!
I am not a fan of gluten-free products because they are even more processed than normal processed foods, but because it's practically impossible to get natural food products I recommend to replace bought or self-made breads with Oat, Quinoa, Barley and Almond Meal (ground up) - as for cookies, cakes and bread try to eat as little as possible.
If like me, you really don't want to refrain from cookies or cakes, make your own from good ingredients for guiltless snacking!
6. Reduce Meat Consumption
Even organic meats have fear and abuse energies in them that can affect our energy system. While our digestive system is designed to be able to metabolize meat it doesn’t mean that it need meats to cover protein and fat requirements. I am recommending a meatless diet, but if it leads to deprivation, compromises can be made. If you are considering a vegetarian or vegan diet it is of utmost importance that you educate yourself on how to replace macronutrients through the reduced selection of foods. If you have to eat meat, silently give thanks to the animal (raises its vibration) and bless the food it provides. Alternatives are replacing meats with tuna or Shiitake Mushrooms for example.
7. Add Essential Oils, Essences, Fresh Herbs and Herbal Teas as natural remedies or alternatives
- The nature of the place you live in always provides exactly the seasonal herbs and plant-medicines needed to support your immune system. Check out edible weeds and plants in your area for remedies or immune support!
- Use mild herbal teas, essences, and tinctures such as chamomile, lavender, mint and fennel to balance irregularities.
- Use essential oils and aromatherapy for regulating your well-being. Some oils, such as Lavender oil also provide clearing from emotions.
- Regularly use the smoke of Sage for energetic clearing of your space and your etheric energy system (Aura).
8. Take only Whole Food-based Supplements
This is a big subject, but the golden rule is to stay aware of artificially produced, refined, pharmaceutical grade vitamin and mineral supplements, protein shakes and combo-products! Choose supplements that are made from whole foods and natural compounds, e.g. concentrates, fruit & veggie powders, brewer’s yeast, fish oil, seashells, sea salt, etc. (Due to radiation poisoning of the Pacific Ocean I only recommend Fish Oil from Atlantic Ocean Fish).
9. Align to your Food, Eating & Preparation Process
A High Vibratory Diet does not just involve ‘eating’ foods; it starts with selecting ingredients, possibly even growing them yourselves, the cutting and cooking process and of course presentation! Cooking your own meals always adds to your vibratory rate! Pay attention to your attitude while cooking and presenting your food. Even if you are single, the overall energy balance of your food is determined by all stages of growing, cutting, processing and consuming! ALWAYS BLESS YOUR FOODS!
10. Have a Moderate but Regular Exercise & Stretching Routine
Regular mildly aerobic exercise (e.g. hiking, swimming or power walking - preferably in nature) for at least 35 min with stretching intervals works for everybody and is ideal for maintaining high energy levels. Any type of athletic or muscle-shaping or promoting exercise requires extra Micro and Macronutrients, water, rest and care. For optimal release of stored energies in your body apply regular self-clearing routines.
11. Balance with Sleep, Meditation & Mindfulness Techniques
Sleep is very important for our metabolism! Sleep deprivation can lead to unwanted weight gain, lack of concentration, anxiety and other adverse energetic effects.
Meditation helps to reduce overall stress and activates our Para-sympathetic Nervous System (the counter mechanism to our Autonomous-Nervous System. Other Mindfulness techniques, such as deep breathing, tapping, energy work, and overall Chakra Awareness can help to activate our own self-healing abilities and lead to more effective self-care.
12. Practice Self-Love in all your Thoughts, Sentiments & Actions
Love is an extremely high vibratory resonance. Love and Self-Love for everything you do, think, feel and say. Discerning and Allowing Lovingness to enter your energy field is vital for your energetic alignment and therefore the most important prerequisite for high vibratory nutrition and living.
Thank you for your time.
