If we knew better, we’d do better...

... think so? History shows that the knowledge alone doesn’t prevent repetitive behaviors or events from reoccurring. This doesn’t mean we can’t do better, it just means that knowledge is no guarantee for a realization of information. We all know that there is a built in inertia in us, preventing or slowing down our process from knowing, experiencing, understanding to realizing.

Never before in human history have we been able to access so much information as today, but has it changed any of the outcomes? We are still at war with another, we still have racism and degrade the feminine; and we still believe in collectively propagated lies and half-truths. If we really wanted things to be better, why wouldn’t we naturally embrace the opportunity to know better?

The ego as defined by Sigmund Freud is the mediator between the impulsive and animalistic drives of the id and the critical, moralizing comments and structure of the super-ego. It is, in the ‘healthy’ version, the mature adult that balances the drives and wants of the child (id) and the parental structure that attempts to define what is okay and not (super-ego).

The ego in this model regulates the impulses of the id and the needs for conformity of the superego via rationalization, intellectualism, defensive or coping structures and various methods of hiding impulses and judgments that brings about a multitude of expressions geared at what is perceived as normality and healthy interaction with the world.

And, this view of the ego and the model associated has served many well actually giving quite a complex and well-developed structure to how people behave and act. It has led to tremendous study, contemplation and even a more powerful understanding of the human psyche and interaction. It also created an entire area of study (psychology & counseling) that has also shed light on other areas of interest ranging from metaphysics, sociology, philosophy and even spirituality.

One of the main themes in intense times like right now is learning to discern dark from light forces - chaos from unity. Once we find ourselves beginning to see truth an inner transformation begins to happen. We begin to feel attracted to higher vibrational places, people and teachings and we feel a longing for SOUL INTEGRATION. What drives us now is not our ego but the resolution of inner SEPARATION & FEAR through allowing ourselves to feel whole again. It is then when we begin to feel a renewed trust in our inner higher power to guide us through the darkness in this world, that we finally understand the purpose of the pain of chaos.

To overcome the pain of inner separation we recognize that all we need is to reconnect to our WHOLE & UNITED SELF, and realize that our journey is a healing path to find our lost SOUL PURPOSE again. Let's illuminate together, what these deeper aspects of self healing mean for our personal journey:

For many the Art of Healing comes as a calling. Whether we can see ourselves to be a 'healer' or simply someone who wants to be of service to others, learning how to use our energy to enhance, deepen or bring our calling to the next level is is a smart move. When it comes to better undertanding the human condition, physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually energy work can offer a whole new perspective on deseases, chronic illnesses, issues with recurring relationship issues, anxiety, depression and even lack of abundance. Integrating energy work is like learning brand new tools.

What Does It Take To Become An Energy Worker?

If I would have to describe what it’s like to be an energy worker’ in few words, I would say that the most interesting but also most difficult aspect about this line of healing work is the ultimate challenge of being forced to be real at all times. Other than most professions, there is no way to do this work without being aware and conscious of our own inner dynamics and personal limitations.

You can’t become a professional energy worker without being in touch with yourselves at all times!

If we are tired, going through something that stresses our physical, emotional or spiritual connection, we need to know how to manage our own energies, or else we cannot be of service to others.

The experiences of our youth and childhood help us to form our values, our morals, and even how we view the world.  These views of life and patterns development can be very healthy and loving, but also very restrictive and even painful based on what it was we experienced and how we handled it.

All of us have had a combination of these moments as each of us has had moments of love and pain in our lives.  Moments where we felt wonderful and times were we felt quite awful.  Times where we felt rejected, left alone and hurt, and other times where felt included, accepted, and that we belonged.

The combined experiences that we have is partially what makes up where we are at, but maybe better to say where we are going.  As via our focus and intention, we paint our lives…or what we tend to hold in mind, comes to us.

And, when our life feels like it needs a bit of change or healing, sometimes we will notice that some of these old pains and patterns come up from within us as we go about trying to change our lives or change our direction.

All of us, at one point or another, had a few issues that arose that we didn’t feel capable of handling, and in this, we found a creative way to not face or deal with that issue. This is usually referred to a coping or defensive mechanism that originally is created to protect us from the initial issues or trauma.

There are all kinds of fancy names for these mechanisms, but they typically revolve around distraction, dodging, hiding, or even simply avoiding. And, if we feel into these mechanisms just a bit, we can quickly see that they are focused solely on temporary relief or pleasure in the hopes of not facing the initial issue or trauma.

With time, these patterns become quite strong and develop into parts of us that we may even identify as ourselves, leading to the development of a facade or false self that acts a persona and hides the truer side of us underneath.

Naturally, towards the end of each year we spend time contemplating about our accomplishments of this year, what the next steps are and what we can do to improve our life. Wouldn’t it be nice to have this inner clarity of knowing exactly what we want and how to get there? We knew exactly what is best for us, we could easily make decisions and all our struggles would be gone...

Knowing the future gives us the feeling of being in control over our life; and control promises relief from all inner conflicts. However, from a deeper spiritual point of view, this is only how our ego feels about future – it believes that we can only obtain inner peace perfectly planned out A-Z steps. Seeking True Inner Vision doesn’t work this way! We can make plans, have good intentions and tons of new years resolutions, but deep down we remain unsure if these choices are really in tune with our higher purpose. Why isn’t this working?
